After the CSS wizard Harry Roberts introduced himself to the audience in Split, we have managed to land yet another magician who will visit us at Tinel Meetup.
This time around, our guest is no one other than Ryan Weaver, who is a part of Symfony Core development team. Ryan will talk about Symfony Flex, the tool that replaced Symfony Installer and changed the way we manage Symfony applications.
Ryan is also one of the most notable names in the Symfony world and even though he did graduate in Spanish and Mathematics, he managed to maintain a successful career as a self-taught programmer.
In 2011 he was named as the Symfony contributor of the year and in late 2014 he was introduced as the 10th member in the Symfony Core development team.
Besides that, he works at KnpLabs US as a trainer and consultant with dozens of different tutorials for aspiring developers.
He was a guest speaker at a variety of international conferences, with the last one being at Web Summer Camp in Rovinj where he received an award for the best speaker with an astonishing 4.77 rating,
This premier lecture is scheduled for Tuesday, the 5th of September and it will be taking place at the Locastic office in Split.

Ms. Gray is the Founder and Managing Partner of The 22 Capital Group (The 22), a social impact, growth venture capital and advisory firm with a job creation mission to increase the export capacity of Southern California manufacturing companies, targeting women- and minority-owned businesses. In addition, Ms. Gray is the founder of the non-profit We Are Enough (WAE). WAE’s only mission is to increase the flow of capital to women entrepreneurs by educating ALL women on how and why to invest in women-owned for-profit businesses or with a “gender lens.” Ms. Gray was recently named one of the 50 “Women of Influence” in business in Los Angeles.
Prior to starting The 22, Ms. Gray was Senior Advisor of International Business and Marketing to Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and Senior Advisor to the Mayor’s Small Business Office. Ms. Gray was also a managing director at a venture catalyst consulting firm, where she raised over $30 million in equity capital; an investment professional at Zone Ventures, where her first investment decision, DivX, had a market capitalization of $435M at IPO; a director at an economic development non-profit; and a systems engineer/mission monitor on the NASA Space Shuttle program.
Ms. Gray is currently on the advisory board of Exergy Systems Inc. and Isidore Electronics Recycling (sold to Homeboy Industries). She also serves on several non-profit boards of directors and an advisory board and is a frequent speaker at various conferences and events. Ms. Gray holds a B.S. in Mathematical Science with an aeronautics emphasis from the University of California, Santa Barbara and dual MBAs from Columbia University and University of California, Berkeley.

During this interactive presentation, Michael Freer, employee of CEDRA Split and Director of ENSOCO (www.ensoco.co.uk) will start by giving a short history on the way business and the non-profit sector has changed, as well as the causes behind it. He will then introduce the concept of eco-social enterprise by providing examples. Throughout the presentation, he will discuss some countries in particular, including the UK and Croatia, and provide his own experience of social enterprise, before finishing with his idealistic view for the future.
The presentation will take place in English, however Croatian translation is available on request. It is free to attend, and we hope to see you there, whether you are just curious, thinking about starting your own social enterprise, or already run one – we would love your input!

This time Petar Kekez from lil code lab will show us how to create a simple chat client and the backend on azure.
The main point of the presentation is to easily create a server and a local database that sync when there is a internet connection. We will be able to insert data to a local database when there is no internet connection that will sync with the server when the connection is established.
The system backend will be hosted on azure and the mobile applications will be done with Xamarin forms.

Neće nam uvijek sve poći za rukom, zapravo od 10 pokušaja u poslovnom svijetu, samo jedan će završiti kao potpuni uspjeh.
Zato ajmo popričati o zajebima; malim, velikim i epskim, svačija je priča DOBRODOŠLA. Tinel Meetup — Lovački put 7, Split, CroatiaSince the very beginning, Tinel Meetup has had a specific trajectory in every event, and now it’s time to give it a bit of a twist. December is often described as the month of giving and we can’t wait to present all the treats we’ve prepared for you.
We start off with our first ever Tinel Workshop which will feature a respectable name in Croatian digital industry – Barbara Slade Jagodic, former Digital Brand Communications Manager at the largest Croatian private company. She’s now a freelance PR and content consultant, working also as a lecturer in Copywriting, Content marketing, and Social media Marketing at London School of Public Relations.
Barbara has started her career in the late 90s and was among first people to do digital communication in Croatia. She was the first successful editor in chief at one of the largest Croatian daily newspapers Jutarnji List, one of the first community managers in the country, first to land a job through LinkedIn, one of the first Twitter and Instagram users, won several content marketing awards and so on.
Sounds impressive? That would be only a glimpse of Barbara’s rich background. But let’s get to the point – she will be hosting not one, but two exclusive workshops as a part of Tinel on Saturday, December 9th.
The first one covers the topic of content marketing, while the second part will enhance your skills in SEO copywriting.

Tinel Meetup will feature a bit of a different format for the last event of 2017, but we still have development as one of the main topic – video game development.
Our main guests will be Ante Vrdelja and Daniel Lučić from Croteam – the award-winning game development studio and the creators of well-known Serious Sam and The Talos Principle titles. Ante’s talk will take place as a part of Tinel #7 on Friday, 15th of December.
After dedicating more than 13 years to PC gaming and their Serious Sam franchise (with some notable game projects on the side), 2014 was the turning point for the studio when they decided to follow the latest trends and switch to Virtual Reality, becoming one of the pioneers of VR Gaming.

This time around, we are going back to our roots – the next Tinel speaker is Agnieszka Naplocha, designer and developer from Poland who currently works at Adobe Systems.
Yes, you read it right – the same Adobe that developed software solutions like Photoshop, Acrobat Reader, PDF and Creative Cloud. In early 2016, Aga and her friend Marta Szybor founded The Awwwesomes with a sole purpose to create a community of people interested in Web Design & Development. Currently, they organize free HTML & CSS workshops and meetups for designers and developers in her hometown – Warsaw, Poland.
She’s also keen on sharing her knowledge on many different conferences for designers, startups and developers around the world – like Confitura, Codemotion Milan, CSS Nordic and CSS-Minsk-JS conferences.
Besides hosting workshops, attending conferences and working as a Visual Designer & Front-end Developer – Aga is a huge User Experience enthusiast and that is exactly the topic that she will cover at the upcoming Tinel. User Experience is becoming more and more crucial aspect while creating new applications. It aims to make life easier for the users, but at the same time is a huge setback for developers. Aga will help us understand why it is so important and show us the most useful tools and techniques we can use without having any previous experience in design.
The eight edition of Tinel Meetup is scheduled for the January 25th. Since the talk is coming from a person whose design was featured in the .NET magazine, you should definitely come over and hear what she’s got to say.

Radionica će se održati u ponedjeljak, 5. veljače 2018. s početkom u 14:00 sati, u prostorijama CEDRA-e Split (Ruđera Boškovića 20/II), a prvenstveno je namijenjena nezaposlenim aktivnim tražiteljima posla, ali i svima ostalima koji su zainteresirani za navedenu tematiku.
Predavač je Michael Freer, stručnjak za društveno poduzetništvo i projektno upravljanje, zaposlenik CEDRA-e Split i direktor društvenog poduzeća Ensoco (www.ensoco.co.uk). Michael će predstaviti koncept društvenih poduzeća kroz zanimljive primjere iz stvarnog života.
Putem ove interaktivne prezentacije moći ćete doznati kako su se poslovni i neprofitni sektor mijenjali kroz godine te koji razlozi stoje iza tih promjena. Raspravljat ćemo o tome kakav je položaj društvenih poduzeća u različitim zemljama, uključujući Veliku Britaniju i Hrvatsku. Za kraj, Michael će predstaviti svoju viziju budućnosti ovakvog tipa poslovanja.
