Chef RICHARD GRUICA is a Croatian-American food meetup and Croatian gourmet travel pioneer. Through his Captivating Croatia travel company, he sources people with passion for Croatian tradition, craft and smallholder produce. He brings in international chefs and guests to experience Croatia at her culinary finest. The oyster beds of Ston. The truffle trails of Istria. He is also the mastermind behind the roaming secret dinners series, Gyspy Table.

In 2007, RICHARD GRUICA started the largest dining and socializing meetup in the USA, “GOOD EATS MEETS” (GEAM), now with over 120,000 members. A chef and early adopter of the slow food movement, Richard brings international chefs and guests on what he dubs “the un-tour tour” – including Croatia, Slovenia and Italy. When in Croatia, Dubrovnik is his base.

THE TALK:
Richard’s talk will cover his culinary journey, the process in setting up a luxury gourmet business in the USA and Europe. He’ll share tips for business-owners in the region, trends and what motivates him at the table. Like many SplitBiz events, the conversation may flow based on audience questions, so please be open to changes to the planned talk.

There will be Q&A and the talk will be in English.

Guests can self drive or take a prepaid shuttle to the vineyard.

The shuttle will depart Saltwater Workspace (Split Riva) at 5.15pm.
The talk begins at 6pm and the return shuttle will depart at 7.30pm, returning to Split at approximately 8pm.

Like all SplitBiz events, attending the talk is free and drinks/food are available for purchase when applicable. In this case, drinks at the venue, or the prepaid package options below.

Vina Kairos are offering a special rate for SplitBiz guests, with a 50% discount on their wine tasting experience (3 glasses of Kairos wines and savoury tasting plate). As Vina Kairos is a 30 minute drive from Split’s centre, there is a prepaid shuttle option to the vineyard, organised by Vina Kairos. Departure is 5.15pm from the new Saltwater on Split’s Riva (Trumbićeva Obala 4).

Prepayments are required 48 hours before the event, ie. by 6pm MONDAY 6 MAY. This is directly to Vina Kairos (online) or at their Split centre “ZERU” wine bistro.

All guests who register will be sent information about the packages, and book their own options directly with Vina Kairos, not SplitBiz organisers.
